This is the privacy policy for the Lafis Enhanced browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (“the extension”). It explains what the extension does with data. The short version: the extension does not collect, transmit, or share any data.

Summary

Who is responsible

The extension is published and maintained by Jeremy Zahner. Contact: jeremy.zahner@gmail.com

What the extension does

When you open a journal entry on the LAFIS portal, the extension adds a “Drucken” (Print) button. When you click it, the extension reads the fields of the entry that is already displayed on the page (for example the subject, times, address/deployment location, and journal text), formats them into a clean A4 print layout, and opens your browser’s normal print dialog. The formatted document is generated locally, in a temporary frame inside the page, and is removed again after printing.

Data the extension accesses

To produce the printout, the extension reads the data of the single journal entry you have open at the moment you click Print (and, for the printout’s header/footer, the current operation name and your user initials shown in the portal’s menu bar). This data may include personal or incident-related information that the portal itself displays.

This processing happens entirely within your browser, on your device, and only on your action (the button click). The extension:

Because nothing leaves your device, under the Chrome Web Store’s definitions the extension does not “collect” user data.

Data the extension stores

The extension stores exactly one setting using the browser’s local extension storage (storage.local):

This setting is stored only on your own device. It is not account-linked, not synced to any server, and contains no personal information.

What the extension does NOT do

Permissions and why they are needed

Data sharing and third parties

None. No data is shared with the developer or any third party, because no data is collected or transmitted.

Data retention

The journal-entry data read for printing is held only transiently in memory during printing and is discarded immediately afterwards. The enabled preference remains on your device until you change it or uninstall the extension. Uninstalling the extension removes this stored preference.

Your rights

The extension does not collect or hold personal data on any server, so there is no personal data for the developer to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. You remain in full control of the local enabled preference (it is removed when you uninstall the extension). Any personal data shown on the LAFIS portal itself is controlled by the operators of that portal, not by this extension; please refer to LAFIS for questions about that data. If you have questions about the extension, contact the address below.

Children

The extension is a workplace tool for users of the LAFIS portal and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this page and the “Last updated” date above will be revised.
